TheHopeLine was founded over 30 years ago by acclaimed youth speaker and radio host, Dawson McAllister.

What started out as a way to support listeners of the Dawson McAllister Live radio show has now become one of the world's premiere resources for students and young adults in crisis.

Jen DeJong

Jen DeJong is the Chief Operating Officer of TheHopeLine, a faith‑based crisis chat line. Over her 20 years with the ministry, she has talked with thousands of young people using the LEAP conversation model and trained hundreds of Hope Coaches to do the same. Jen and her husband of more than 30 years have three adult children and one grandchild. She is devoted to helping hurting young people find lasting hope in Jesus Christ.

Roy Roper

Roy Roper is professional relationship and recovery coach for Tin Man Ministries and Nashville’s Center for Relational Healing. Married 29 years, he is a father of four adult children and is an elder at Midtown Fellowship in Nashville, where he leads a recovery ministry and does premarital counseling. His passion is to foster healthy connection and relationships through freedom from compulsive cycles of shame & fear—for the building up of families and God’s church.

Jamison Statema

Jamison Statema is a Dove Award–winning songwriter, speaker, and creative leader with a passion for helping kids and parents connect through faith and authentic conversation. As co-founder and frontman of the children’s music group Go Fish, he has spent decades creating music and resources that encourage families and churches. Jamison has spoken at events with organizations including the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Pulse Evangelism, and Focus on the Family. He has been married to his wife Julie for over 28 years, and together they have three sons.
